Your 5-day journey

  1. 1

    Day 1

    Arrival in Entebbe

    Welcomed at Entebbe International Airport and transferred to your lakeside hotel. Trip briefing over dinner.

  2. 2

    Day 2

    Fly to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    Light-aircraft transfer to Mweya airstrip. Afternoon game drive on the Kasenyi plains in search of lion, elephant, and Uganda kob.

  3. 3

    Day 3

    Kazinga Channel & Drive to Bwindi

    Morning boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel — among the highest concentrations of hippo in Africa. Afternoon scenic drive south to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector (tree-climbing lions).

  4. 4

    Day 4

    Mountain Gorilla Trek

    An early morning briefing at the park HQ, then into the forest with rangers and trackers. The trek can take 2-8 hours, ending with one extraordinary hour in the presence of a habituated gorilla family. Afternoon community walk with a local Batwa guide.

    Day 5

    Fly to Entebbe & Departure

    Light-aircraft transfer to Entebbe and onward connections.

Permits & fitness

Gorilla permits are limited to 8 visitors per family per day and must be booked months in advance. The trek varies in difficulty — local porters are available and highly recommended (they also support the community). Reasonable fitness is required.
